Sai Gon Sundries Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (trading name: TOCONTAP SAIGON JSC) was formerly a state-owned enterprise, under the Ministry of Trade (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade), established in 1956, with the original name of Vietnam National Sundries Import-Export Company.

As one of the 13 import-export hubs of the country at that time, the Company specialized in importing and exporting essential goods such as: household goods, leather shoes, rubber products, clothing according to the international treaty, and implementing barter contracts with countries in the Eastern European bloc.

From 1989-1990, in line with the country’s opening trend, the Company switched to the field of general import-export business, diversifying export items: handicrafts, garments, agricultural products, seafood, … to markets in Asia, Europe, the US, Canada, Australia. In addition, the Company has also built a system of garment factories with product offtake contract from overseas partners.

In 2001, we expanded our scope of operations in the fields of Labor Export, Housing and Office Development Business, Warehouse Business, and Education Support Services. With the traditional market being Japan, the Company has successfully entered the Middle East market and is currently negotiating to supply labor to markets such as South Korea, Australia, the US, and Poland.
